Understanding, defining and charting my career as an #eventprof
Many of us are currently in roles for which we received no specific vocational training. We’re employees of trade or professional associations, executives in PCOs, officials in DMOs, sales people in conference venues but, unlike our friends who are lawyers or accountants, very few of us has been trained specifically to do the job we are currently doing. 

Some of us have graduated from generic courses in travel and tourism with, perhaps, a specialisation in event management. Some of us may even have undertaken post-graduate courses in event management. But the majority of us have landed in “the meetings industry” more by accident than design.

This year’s forum for young professionals takes at 360 degree look at the career of the event professional and helps young professionals to understand, define and chart it so as to maximise career fulfilment and satisfaction.
